Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gojendra said that many studies/research have indicated that Manipur has a high prevalence of mental health issues compared to other Indian states.
"Manipur has a history of insurgency and social unrest, which has led to widespread trauma and displacement, significantly impacting mental well-being of the people", said Dr Gojendra while adding that the Convid pandemic and ongoing conflict have both been major contributors to increased mental health issues in the State.
Dr Gojendra also emphasized the increasing mental health challenges and highlighted the potential of day care centers in providing early intervention and community-based support.
