IIIT Manipur hosts interactive session with Dr Suvrokamal Dutta

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur, an Institute of National Importance, hosted a special lecture by Dr Suvrokamal Dutta, acclaimed international expert in political economy and foreign policy, on Friday.
As per a release issued by IIIT Manipur, the lecture cum interactive session was held on the theme, "Viksit Bharat Manipur 2047: The Road Map Ahead".

Dr Dutta spoke on the global influence of ancient Bharat's knowledge, the cultural unity of South Asia through epics like the Ramayana, and the enduring relevance of India's civilisational values.
He emphasized that Viksit Bharat means inclusive development economic, financial, and cultural.
He also traced India's economic journey from colonial disruption to post Independence recovery, and its recent rise as the 5th largest economy despite the pandemic.
He urged the youth to embrace indigenous technology, cultural pride, and the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
Highlighting the Vedas and Puranas as early texts of equality and women empowerment, Dr Dutta underscored the role of cultural diversity in building a self-reliant and developed Bharat.
The lecture was attended by the Director of the Institute, Prof Krishnan Baskar, who delivered a powerful message urging the students to take pride in their indigenous roots and actively represent and promote their cultural heritage on the global stage.
The Registrar, faculty members, research scholars, and students of IIIT Manipur attended the session with keen interest.
