Ballet Spring Festival held

In a historic cultural milestone, the first-ever Ballet Spring Festival was held today at the JNIMS Auditorium in Imphal.
The event, organised by the Imphal Russian Ballet Academy, marked a pivotal moment in Manipur's evolving artistic landscape, blending international finesse with local ambition.
For the first time, ballet - an internationally revered classical art form was brought to the public stage in Manipur, performed by the 35 students who were trained for the last one year by Zingrin Muivah, ballet teacher and director of the Imphal Russian Ballet Academy.
Angelina Baruah, a promising ballet student from Delhi, also gave a special performance, offering audiences a rare glimpse into the refined discipline and expressive power of classical ballet.
G Dharmadas Sharma, Deputy Director (Programme), Arts & Culture Department, Government of Manipur and Galina Lyakhova, Director of Russian Classical Ballet, Delhi also attended the event as the chief guest & guest of honour respectively.
