MUC shines at 39th AIU Youth Festival

Imphal, March 16 2026: Manipur University of Culture (MUC) has brought laurels to the State by securing several top positions, including two first-place finishes, at the 39th AIU National Inter-University Youth Festival "Kalai Saaral" .

The prestigious event, organised under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, was held at Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from March 9 to 14, 2026.The festival witnessed the participation of more than 120 universities from across the country, making it one of the largest national platforms for university-level cultural talent.

MUC's team qualified for the national level after successfully competing in the North East Zone Level held at Assam Don Bosco University in February.

The university's achievements reflect its continued commitment to promoting cultural excellence and nurturing young artistic talent.

The team secured 1st Position in Indian Group Song , 1st Position in Rangoli Making, 2nd Position in Creative Choreography, 3rd Position in Western Group Song, 3rd Position in Cartooning, 4th Position in On-the-Spot Painting, and 5th Position in Poster making.

Additionally, MUC was awarded the Overall Champion trophy in the Cultural Procession (1st Position) and the Overall Champion trophy in Fine Arts (3rd Position).

This marks the fourth time MUC has participated in the AIU National Inter-University Youth Festival.

The accomplishments of the students have brought pride to the university and the State of Manipur, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and creative potential of its young artists on a national stage.
