Imphal, October 15 2025:
In a heartfelt tribute to World Students Day, Assam Rifles organised a series of engaging and educational activities across five villages in Chandel district-Old Samtal, New Samtal, Kachinbung, Tuitong and Sehlon on Wednesday.
As per a release issued by HQ IGAR(South), the initiative was designed to inspire young minds, promote academic growth and strengthen community ties in some of the region's most remote areas.
The day's events commenced with an interactive session aimed at guiding students towards career opportunities and personal development.
Participants were encouraged to explore their aspirations and broaden their understanding of future possibilities.
This was followed by a drawing and painting competition, where children from the participating villages showcased their creativity and imagination, reflecting both local culture and youthful optimism.
A mobile library was also set up, drawing enthusiastic interest from students eager to explore a diverse collection of books spanning various genres and authors.
The initiative not only promoted reading habits but also provided access to educational resources that are often limited in these far-flung areas.
To further support academic engagement, stationery and study materials were distributed to students across all five locations.
Adding a spirited dimension to the celebrations, a volleyball tournament was organised exclusively for students.
The matches witnessed energetic participation and highlighted the sporting talent and camaraderie among the youth.
The entire programme was attended by 278 individuals, including Assam Rifles personnel and local villagers, who extended their wholehearted support and appreciation.
The observance of World Students Day in Chandel district stands as a testament to Assam Rifles' enduring dedication to nurturing the aspirations of the younger generation in the Northeast.
