8th New Era Week 2025 kicks off

Thoubal, October 13 2025: New Era Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Okram Wangmataba kicked off the 8th New Era Week 2025, its annual week-long sports, cultural and literary celebration, today.

Students will compete in 34 different events during the 8th New Era Week.

As part of today's ceremony, founder N Ojit led the students and teachers in taking out a torch rally from Thoubal Melaground to Okram Lampak where today's events took place.

Following this, chief guest Dr Ak Bojen, Associate Professor, DM University officially lit the torch and hoisted the school flag to inaugurate the 8th New Era Week.

The event also witnessed eleven march past contingents.

Medals and certificates were distributed to the winners of the sports events conducted today.

Cultural showcases also captivated the audience.

At the event, Dr Ak Bojen stressed the importance of extracurricular activities in a student's life.

He said that the diverse events at the 8th New Era Week will provide a platform for students to unveil their hidden talents.

Other notable dignitaries present at the event include New Era Higher Secondary School Principal Th Kumar; Thoubal District Table Tennis Association and Lions Club Thoubal president Konsam Michael and Okram Youth Club secretary Okram Inaobi Singh as the presidium members.
