UKLF washes its hands off on Chungjalen Haokip shooting

In response to the press statement issued Kolphe, Information & Publicity Secretary of KNLF, regarding shooting of Chungjalen Haokip near his home at Tuibong two days back, United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) today clarified that it has nothing to do with the incident.
Saying that Chungjalen Haokip is the elder brother of KNLF Gen.
Secy.
Tonglenlal @ Lalmoi, the UKLF in its statement asserted even though the UKLF and KNLF had problems, that is not a valid reason to target a victim who is a civilian.
UKLF knew this part very much.
Thus, the false and random allegation of KNLF upon UKLF is very unfortunate, the press statement signed by its Joint Secretary MP Haokip said.
While condemning the shooting of Chungjalen Haokip, UKLF demanded the perpetrators to come out in public and clarify their action immediately.
UKLF, being a SoO signatory, never indulge in anything which is against the SoO ground rules, it added, while affirming that it is strictly following the set rules and none of its cadres is out there to carry out action on Chungjalen Haokip who is in Churanchanpur .
UKLF does not believe in internecine bloodshed but believes in peace and social harmony and had even raised this particular point many times at different levels of meeting between the UPF and KNO, it further said.
The statement also urged that instead of trying to tarnish the good image of UKLF, KNLF should mend its way and stop indulging in extortion, threatening and warning public leaders.
It cautioned the government to be careful while dealing between the SoO groups and surrenderee group like KNLF, and advised the government that surrenderee groups be sent home with appropriate rehabilitation packages and not be treated at par with the SoO groups.
