Protest staged against gun attack

Imphal, May 09 2025: Denouncing the gun attack carried out by unknown miscreants at the residence of Dr Konjengbam Dhanachandra in Uripok Khoisnam Leikai, Meira Paibis and elders of the area staged a sit-in protest at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai today.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Uripok Khoisnam Leikai Meira Paibi vice president Oinam Rosetta said that armed miscreants fired some rounds towards the residence of Dr Konjengbam Dhanachandra at around 6.30 pm yesterday.

She strongly condemned the gun attack carried out in a residential area and urged all to refrain from creating an atmosphere of fear during this difficult time.

At the sit-in, the protestors displayed placards with slogans such as, "We condemn gun attacks in residential areas", "Violence is not the answer", etc.
