Cleanliness cum tree plantation drive held

Thoubal, June 06 2025: In connection with the World Environment Day, 2025, Duhul Laikol VLF Heirok Pt I in collaboration with Legal Aid Clinic organised a cleanliness cum tree plantation drive at Heituppi Leikai, Heirok Pt I .

Speaking in this connection, Duhul Laikol VLF, SISD cadre Kshetrimayum Bandana Devi said that the disposal of waste items like plastic bottles, glasses and other waste in the river and roadside has impacted the environment and public health of Heirok area.

To prevent this, the waste collected from today has been disposed of by digging a pit, said Bandana.

Legal Aid Clinic Heirok, Coordinator Wahengbam Jiban said that involvement of self help groups, VLFs, etc in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the locality has contributed in transforming Heirok into a modem village.

He also encourages the people to practice proper waste management to minimise environmental pollution.
