Imphal, May 04 2025: A man stabbed a woman on her neck with scissors near Ibohal Cycle at Paona Bazar under City police station on Sunday morning.

Police have arrested the attacker.

The injured woman has been identified as Ningthoujam Bebe Devi (41) w/o Ningthoujam Kenedy Singh of Khongjom Papal Mamang Leikai.

She is undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity hospital.

Meanwhile, the attacker has been identified as Khuraijam Davish Singh (29) s/o Kh Lokeshor Singh of Sagolband Salam Leikai.

According to a police report, the incident occurred around 10 am Sunday.

Both Bebe and Davish were quarrelling, when Davish suddenly stabbed Bebe on the neck with a pair of scissors.

Bebe was immediately rushed to Raj Medicity, while Davish was apprehended from the spot.

A mobile forensic team also arrived on the spot and inspected the crime scene.

The team also recovered the scissors used in the attack.

City PS has registered a sou moto case and an FIR in connection with the incident.

Davish was produced before the court of Duty Magistrate, Imphal West, which remanded him to four days in police custody.
