Thoubal, July 03 2025: In a step towards reducing plastic pollution and promoting sustainability, the EcoNetwork Manipur and Ekop Ningthou VLF, Heirok Pt II distributed cloth bags - an environmental friendly alternative to plastic at Wangjing Bazar in connection with the observance of International Plastic Bag Free Day.

The campaign held under the theme "Unbag the Future: Choose Reusable, Choose Sustainability" highlighted the environmental hazards of single-used plastic and encouraged the use of eco-friendly alternatives.

Speaking in this connection, EcoNetwork Manipur president Shingthangamba Laishram emphasized on the urgent need for collective responsibility in reducing plastic usage.

He called on the public to adopt sustainable alternatives and reduce plastic consumption in daily life for a cleaner, healthier future.
