AR celebrates Gaan Ngai with Kabui community

In a heart-warming display of cultural solidarity, Assam Rifles personnel joined the Kabui community in celebrating the auspicious Gaan-Ngai festival at Oinam Kabui Khul, Bishnupur today.
As a significant post-harvest celebration, the festival symbolises renewal, gratitude and the victory of light over darkness.
The event was marked by the active participation of the force, who presented thoughtful gifts to the villagers as a gesture of enduring goodwill and mutual respect, said a press note issued by IGAR (S).
The celebrations featured a rich tapestry of traditional songs, rhythmic folk dances and sacred rituals dedicated to ancestral deities.
The programme was attended by over 250 villagers, including community elders, youth, children and members of the meira paibis.
They were enthusiastically joined by around 35 officials and troops who coordinated the event, ensuring a seamless and memorable celebration for all.
Soul-stirring hymns and prayers for a bountiful harvest created an atmosphere of profound communal harmony and joy.
By participating in such cultural milestones, Assam Rifles continues to uphold its commitment to winning hearts and minds and fostering social cohesion and inclusive development within the border regions.
