Imphal, January 02 2026: The 45th Foundation Day of Manipuri evening daily, 'Kangleipakki Meira' was celebrated today at its office in Keishampat junction.

The celebration was graced by Kangleipakki Meira's proprietor Nameirapak Tomba and chief editor Wangkhemcha Shamjai as the chief guest & president respectively.

The Foundation Day celebration was marked by felicitation of senior working journalists and retired journalists of the State.

Leihaothabam Saratchandra, former president of AMWJU; Salam Bharatbhusan, founder editor of Hueiyen Lanpao; Yumnam Ajit, former editor of Kangleipakki Meira; Ningthou-khongjam Tombiraj, former president AMWJU; N Krishnamohan and Athokpam Thoungam Luwang of Sanaleipak were honoured for their selfless dedication to the line of work.

Gifts were also presented to the staff of Kangleipakki Meira.

Moreover, the 14th Foundation Day of Senior Citizen for Society Wangoi Chapter was celebrated yesterday at its office in Wangoi Bazaar.

The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Oinam Lukhoi, ex-Minister and vice president of BJP Manipur Pradesh; Senior Citizen for Society Wangoi Chapter's president Kh Sarat, vice president W Amutombi and Ksh Dhanajit.

The event began with the offering of floral tributes to Late Wahengbam Nimapacha, former Chief Minister, and other deceased members of the Senior Citizen for Society Wangoi Chapter.

A souvenir on the activities/works undertaken by Oinam Lukhoi for the welfare of people in Wangoi AC was also released.
