Students stage sit in, form human chain

Students formed human chain on the NH-102 at Thoubal Okram to protest against the controversial Framework Agreement signed between India Government and NSCN-IM in the month of August 2015 which has posed serious threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur.
During the protest demonstration students of Fancier Higher Secondary School, New Era Higher Secondary School and Vision Creative of Science formed the human chain in front of their schools along NH-102 Imphal-Moreh road.
Many student protestors said that the Framework agreement signed between NSCN -IM and India Government has raised apprehension to the people Manipur and other affected North Eastern states as the content of the agreement is a closely guarded matter.
Scores of students who took part in the protest urged the State Government to take strong decision to save Manipur during the Special State Assembly Session on August 16 and informed the Central Government of their decision so that the apprehension felt by the people of Manipur can be minimized.
Meanwhile, number of women vendors also staged sit-in-protest at Wangjing Keithel and raised their dissenting voice against Framework Agreement.
The protest demonstration was held by women vendors of Wangjing Keithel Ema Apunba Lup with the support of United Committee Manipur (UCM).
Many resource persons while speaking at the occasion lay their apprehension on the consequences that may be sprung up due to the Framework Agreement.
