24th scientific advisory committee meeting of KVK Bishnupur held

The 24th scientific advisory committee meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bishnupur, Utlou, was held on Monday at its office premises, where currentyear activities and proposed programmes forthe comingyear were reviewed and discussed.
The meeting focused on assessing the progress of various extension and scientific farming activities undertaken during the year and chalking out plans to be implemented in the following year to enhance farmers' welfare in the district.
On the occasion, Arundhyanti Naorem was felicitated with a certificate for her participation in the Mahila Kisan Diwas 2025, organised by the Extension Education Institute.
The programme was attended by KVK Bishnupur chairman and Padmashree Thounaojam Chaoba Singh; Sr Scientist (Agronomy) at ICAR for NEH Region, Imphal; Dr Ingudam Bhupen Singh, Deputy Director Extension, CAU, Imphal, along with experts from line departments, ICAR, CAU, KVK, and progressive farmers.
Speaking at the meeting, Thounaojam Chaoba said that KVK Bishnupur has, over the years, undertaken several significant and noteworthy initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods and welfare of farmers.
He added that in line with the vision of the Prime Minister of India to increase production, focused efforts would be made in 2026 to promote fisheries and allied activities in Bishnupur district with support from experts and concerned departments.
Head Senior Scientist of KVK Bishnupur, Dr Brajamani Meetei, stated that the Kendra has been consistently promoting scientific farming practices without adversely affecting the ecology, and also made efforts to enhance farmer's livelihoods in the district.
He further said that in 2026, KVK Bishnupur would continue to implement farmer-centric initiatives in consultation with experts from ICAR, CAU and KVK .
