Natural farmer Laishram Gokulchandra honored at Republic Day Reception

Laishram Gokulchandra, a dedicated natural farmer from Sunusiphai Mayai Leikai, Bishnupur district, was felicitated by President Droupadi Murmu at the 'At Home' reception hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations.
He was one of six natural farmers selected from across India to attend the prestigious event, representing the North Eastern states.
Upon his return to Imphal International Airport, Gokulchandra received a warm welcome from the Mahoushagi Louu Pathap Sintha Lup and other local natural farming communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Gokulchandra expressed his happiness at being selected to represent the North East.
He shared that he has been successfully practicing natural farming at his farm in Sunusiphai, leveraging knowledge and guidance from local farmers, the Manipur Government's agriculture department, and experts from the Central Agricultural University.
Gokulchandra's recognition at the reception was a testament to his tireless work in natural farming.
He was personally encouraged by the President, who offered a warm welcome.
The prestigious honor highlighted the importance of sustainable agriculture and recognized Gokulchandra's contributions to promoting eco-friendly farming practices.
