New library and science lab inaugurated at Kumbi Central High School

The newly constructed Library Room and Science Laboratory Room of Kumbi Central High School, built under Samagra Shiksha Secondary, Manipur (2024-25), were inaugurated today by MLA of Kumbi Assembly Constituency, Sanasam Premchandra and Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam encouraged students to study diligently and actively participate in co-curricular activities for their holistic development.
Highlighting the rapidly changing world, she stressed the importance of staying updated with modem developments, including social media and artificial intelligence, and urged students to use such tools in a productive and constructive manner.
Pooja also appealed to teachers and parents to consistently guide students in the right direction while helping them embrace and preserve the rich traditions of the state.
She emphasized the need for students to stay rooted in their culture while also learning how to succeed in the modem world.
Expressing satisfaction over the school's academic performance, Pooja Elangbam noted that the pass percentage of the school is nearly 100 percent and assured that all possible support would be extended for the further improvement of the institution.
She added that strengthening the education system directly contributes to societal development and called for collective community efforts to bring about positive change in society.
Later in the day, the Deputy Commissioner also attended the Pace Setting Activities and Community Mobilisation Programme hosted by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Bishnupur, one of the PM SHRI Schools in the district.
She appreciated the organising team for successfully conducting the event and commended the participating schools, students, and teachers for their active involvement in co-curricular activities, which play a vital role in the all-round development of students.
The Deputy Commissioner, along with the Principal of JNV Bishnupur, and the Principal, of Bishnupur Higher Secondary School, also distributed prizes to the toppers of the inter-school competitions held during the programme.
The competitions included football, painting, folk dance, music, and essay writing.
