AMSU members attend sports carnival in Assam

Imphal, October 27 2025: A team of the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) led by its president Bruce Pebam attended the "Mising Sports Carnival" in Assam.

The sports carnival was organised by the All Mising Students' Union at Gogamukh, Dehemji, Assam from October 23 to October 26.Bruce Pebam, who attended the sports carnival as the guest of honour, exhorted the importance of strengthening and protecting the identity and culture of the indigenous peoples of the North East, said the student union in a statement.

Bruce also talked about forces trying to use the "identities" of the communities as a "weapon" to divide them and exploit the natural resources and the land.

The North East as whole would have developed much faster had the Government of India treated the people and land of the region with respect and dignity, he said.

He urged all communities in the region to protect and preserve their identity and culture and bring about unity.
