Moreh, August 27 2025: Moreh police arrested a prominent member of the Kuki Village Volunteers from Moreh Ward no 5 Labuk Leikai, yesterday.

The arrestee has been identified as Eshor Pande alias Shiva Tamil.

He was initially detained by the 5 Assam Rifles, Moreh.

It is reported that Eshor Pande who works under one Thangboi was involved in extortion, money collection, arms smuggling, and had a hand in the May 3, 2023, crisis.

He was earlier arrested in a drug case.

Following the arrest, a large number of Kuki women stormed the Key Location Point of Assam Rifles situated about 5 Km from Moreh police station.

It is further reported that the arrestee has been taken to Imphal.
