Imphal, July 27 2026:
Shiv Sena, Manipur will contest the upcoming 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election with 30 candidates, state president M Tombi announced on Monday.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the newly renovated Shiv Sena, Manipur office at Babupara, M Tombi said the party will contest independently without aligning with other political parties and will also work for the welfare of the people.
He added that like Shiv Sena's work in Maharashtra, the party will work with commitment for Manipur and all party workers are "Sena of Manipur".
The party will also oppose any group or organisation creating division and banning the State, he asserted.
On a query, he said Shiv Sena is part of the NDA and he will leave for Delhi within one or two days to discuss future strategies and possible alliances before and after the election.
Addressing concerns raised by Meitei Pangal community members, M Tombi said he was concerned about illegal immigrants taking the benefits and shares meant for the Meitei Pangal community.
Citing the 2024 Mayang Imphal case where 29 illegal entrants were arrested, he urged vigilance, stating such persons have no link with Meitei Pangal and should not disturb peace in the valley.
