Entrepreneurship development programme for FPCs kicks off

Imphal, November 26 2025: A 3-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme for Farmer Producer Company (FPC) under MOVCDNER kicked off today at ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat.

The programme was organised by Service Provider Clover Organic Private Limited in collaboration with ABI ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal.

The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Donald Soubam, Mission Director, MOMA; Kh Nimaichand Singh, Nodal Officer, MOVCDNER; and Dr Ch Basudha Devi, Head, ICAR Manipur Centre.

In his address, Donald Soubam said that FPCs in Manipur have struggled to achieve sustainable business success due to several syste-mic challenges, despite the State's significant agricultural potential.

He asserted that FPCs should concentrate on entrepreneurship and business expansion, assembling teams with technical and business management expertise to ensure success.

"To ensure maximum profit for their members, focusing beyond just primary production and extending their operations into the processing and marketing sectors is crucial.

This approach will allow FPCs to capture more value along the agricultural value chain", he added.

The function witnessed the active participation from Senior Scientists of ICAR Manipur Centre, Head of KVKs, Board of Director of FPCs and farmers from different parts of the State.
