As part of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan(SNSPA), the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a comprehensive health camp today for staff and students of die National Sports University (NSU)at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Over 300 individuals, including students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff, benefitted from the camp.
Specialists from RIMS, including Physiology, Community Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Sports Medicine along with pharmacists, provided free consultations, screenings, and treatments.
The Director of RIMS reviewed the camp and emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups for young athletes and academicians.
Dr Vijaya Langbam, Nodal Officer for the Abhiyan, highlighted that RIMS is conducting a series of health camps and outreach activities focusing on women's health under the theme "Healthy Women, Healthy Society, Healthy Nation".
She asserted that upcoming initiatives will cover mental health, organ donation, nutrition, ABHA ID registration, and Nikshay Mitra enrollment.
Expressing her appreciation, Dr Ningthoujam Debala Chanu, Assistant Professor at NSU, noted that this was the first large-scale health camp at the university and praised RIMS for extending healthcare services to its drverse students from 27 States studying in the university.
The day also featured a blood donation camp at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, in collaboration with 69 Battalion CRPF, Indian Red Cross Society Imphal West, SBTC, and NHM Manipur.
The blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and jawans, led by S A Rojan Zimik, Commandant, 69 Bn CRPF and volunteers from the civil society who came forward to donate blood & support the noble cause.
Also, a health awareness programme on adolescent health was held at the College of Nursing, RIMS.
Similarly, a free health camp was also conducted today at Kripadashini Advanced Hospital & Research Institute in Palace Compound today as part of the SNSPA.
Expert medical professionals from Kripadashini Advanced Hospital & Research Institute offered consultations across multiple specialties, including dermatology, gynecology, dentistry, cardiology and endocrinology.
