Exams for Sanamahi Laining foundation, advance courses held

Imphal, July 26 2026: The Khelchanglon (Panji) Loishang of Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board, Imphal conducted the first examination for its Foundation Course 2nd batch and Advance Course 1st batch on Sunday at Hall No 3, LSTB, Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham.

A total of 86 students appeared.

Of them, 42 sat for the Foundation Course and 44 for the Advance Course, including 79 male and 7 female students.

The three-month courses are part of efforts to set up a full-fledged study centre dedicated to Sanamahi Laining.

The exam was supervised by LSTB 2nd vice president Chanam Nabachandra, member secretary Sandham Gandharaj, GP Women's College Associate Professor Waikhom Romesh, khelchanglon shanglakpa Thongbam Premjit Meetei and other scholars.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandham Gandharaj said LSTB is running 10 departments.

He added that certificates will be given to successful candidates and that new departments related to Meitei culture and tradition will be opened to further strengthen Sanamahi Laining.
