FOR THE people in teaching profession implementation Sixth Pay Commission means a challenge to their careers as authorities as authorities are planning to frame a rule which students can access on the teaching quality of the teachers in their respective school, college or university said Vice-Chancellor, Central Agriculture University, Iroishemba Dr SN Puri speaking as chief guest at the annual Freshers� Social Meet today.
Dr Puri said the authority is planning to make rules for the stricter which will bound the professors, lecturers and teachers in the government institutions where the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission have been implemented and asked the professors of the university to take interest in teaching and imparting training to the students.
In his speech, Dr Puri also called the students of the agricultural universities to be job providers not the job seekers.
He said, �Every places or state has area of concern (which he mean suited for cultivating certain crops) and one must try to grow it using latest scientific method of cultivation for enhancing the yields.�
To produce higher yield from the fields and adopting scientific method of cultivation suited with the place, there is a great role for the students who go out with bachelor degrees in agriculture.
�You should leave the idea of seeking white colour job with the degree you obtain.
Instead you should apply the knowledge you gain in enhancing the agricultural products by going to the fields,� he told the students gathering at the function.
Feeling proud of the CAU success in various fields at the country level, he said altogether 72 students of the CAU, Imphal got Junior Research Fellowship award this year.
This is the highest number, a single university could produce in the country, he added.
Taking advantage of the function, he also announced various developmental programmes of the university which are on the pipelines and appealed all concerns not to give any kinds of disturbances while implementing the programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor said the much demand for opening the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) faculty will soon be opened in the CAU.
Authority has also clear funds for the construction of hostel, sport complex, post graduate degrees, sports complex etc.
