Fire and Life Safety training programme held at Senapati and Thoubal Fire sub-stations

The Manipur Fire Service Department conducted one-day Fire and Life Safety Training Programmes at the Fire Sub-Stations in Senapati and Thoubal today, aiming to strengthen preparedness and safety awareness among education institutions.
At Senapati, the Fire SubStation organised the training at its premises with nearly 30 participants representing various schools from across the district taking part in the programme.
The training was conducted with the objective of strengthening awareness on fire prevention, emergency response systems and life safety protocols within educational institutions.
The initiative forms part of the department's continued effort to cultivate disciplined preparedness and structured safety mechanisms within the community.
The session was conducted under the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge of Fire Service Senapati, Janghingam Gonmei, who addressed the participants as the resource person.
In his address, he highlighted the importance of timely response, systematic evacuation procedures and coordinated institutional action in safeguarding lives and public property.
He urged educational institutions to integrate safety consciousness into their regular administrative and academic functioning.
The programme featured practical demonstrations on the proper handling and use of fire extinguishers, identification of potential fire hazards within school premises, and structured evacuation drills.
Participants were also oriented on basic fire behaviour, emergency communication protocols and first-response measures to ensure clarity in action during critical situations.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to engage in discussion and enhance their operational understanding of fire and life safety management.
Meanwhile, a similar one-day Basic Fire and Life Safety Training Programme was conducted at the Thoubal Fire Sub-Station, organised by the Manipur Fire Service Department.
The training programme was attended by teaching and non-teaching staff of various colleges under Thoubal district.
During the training, Manipur Fire Service Department, Director N Nabachandra, Station Officer Khaidem Surchandra and Thoubal Fire Service SubStation, Officer In-Charge Kh Satish Luwang, imparted training to the participants.
The programme featured practical demonstrations on fire safety techniques and emergency response measures.
The training programme was also attended by officials and staff of Thoubal and Kakching Fire Sub-Stations.
