MASSAL launches 'Khangminnasi Iramdamgi Senmitlon' programme

Imphal, May 23 2026: Manipur Semgat Sagatpa Lup (MASSAL) launched a year-long awareness and training programme titled "Khangminnasi Iramdamgi Senmitlon" at Wangkhei High School on Saturday.

The inaugural function was attended by Ranjita Devi Rajkumari, Headmistress.

Wangkhei High School; Dr N Sanatomba Singh, Assistant Professor, Manipuri Department, Manipur University; Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meetei, Deputy Director, MSME-Technology Centre, Imphal; Wahengbam Rishikanta Singh, Project Manager, LBI DIC, Imphal East; retired Colonel H Sarat Khumancha; and Angom Ningthou, Konung, Angom Rosoraj Mani, as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, MASSAL president Y Yaiphaba said the programme was initiated to address the moral and economic decline in society by reviving traditional economic values.

The year-long drive will cover schools and colleges across the valley to instill economic ethics in students.

He added that the training will encourage youth to value local products, adopt self-reliant practices, and reduce dependence on imported goods for daily use.

The objective is to help the younger generation understand Manipur's economy and live with dignity without depending on others, asserted Yaiphaba.
