Thoubal, September 22 2025: The Khorilol Sandok Lup, Wangjing, in collaboration with Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal and Ningol Khut Manipur, Wanjing, jointly observed the 129th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at Khorilol Shanglen, Wanjing.

The event began with the gathering paying floral tribute to the portrait of Lamyanba Irabot.

The event was graced by Khorilol Sandoklup Wanjing president, Tongbram Babulal as chief guest; Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal, vice-president Dr Yumnam Mahendrakumar as functional president; and Ningol Khut Wangjing, president Khundongbam Gunamani Leima as guests of honour.

The event followed with a public deliberation, focusing on the life and contributions of Hijam Irabot.

Keynote speaker Bhorot Sanasam delivered in-depth talks on 'Pundongbam Thoudok' and 'Manipurgi Apunbagi Saktam', while Sengoi Sanasam, Assistant Professor of Waikhom Mani Girls' College, spoke on 'Irabot amasung Ngasigi Manipur,' highlighting the relevance of Irabot's ideology in contemporary society.

The later session featured a poetry reading dedicated to Irabot and a patriotic-themed poetry recitation competition, moderated by Saikhom Chaoba.

More than 20 poets presented their original works during the event, making it a vibrant celebration of literature and patriotism.

The event was attended by several literary enthusiasts, and admirers of Manipuri literature.
