Thoubal, September 20 2025: Over 1000 Paris of paddy fields and fish farms at Salam Loukol and surrounding areas have been submerged due to flood, said Universal Farmers Organisation (UFO), Khangabok.

As the fields have been inundated with water, the farmers of Khangabok and adjoining areas are staring at a huge loss.

The Government should intervene and provide assistance to the farmers, said UFO secretary Moirangthem Munal Singh The agricultural fields and the fish farms have been flooded due to excess water from Arong River.

The floodwater has damaged the standing paddy crops, and it would be very difficult for the farmers to re-cultivate them.

Timely intervention of the Government is highly needed, Munal said.

He further urged the Government and relevant departments to take up long term measures to avoid floods in the future.
