Election camp destroyed, Kshetrigao Congress alleges NPP's hand

Imphal, February 20 2022: Kshetrigao Block Congress Committee has alleged that workers of NPP had destroyed an election camp at Kshetri Awang Leikai belonging to Congress candidate in Kshetrigao AC Md Amin Shah yesterday at around 9 pm.

Speaking to media at a press conference held in front of the destroyed election camp, Kh Mangoljao, president of Kshetrigao Block Congress Committee, condemned the incident and alleged that the brother of NPP candidate and his team had come to the said election camp at Kshetri Awang Leikai and tear all the banners and took away all the posters.

He added that trying to intimidate others by used of force to vote in their favour is against the principle of election in a democracy and appealed relevant authority to take up necessary action against the people involved in the case.

He also appealed everyone to work together to ensure that the election is conducted in a free and fair way.

Kh Mangoljao further appealed relevant Government authority to take up necessary steps to make the people feel safe to exercise their voting rights and elect representative of their choice.
