Election committee junks slur against Korungthang

Imphal, February 20 2022: The central election committee of NPF candidate for Tengnoupal (ST) AC D Korungthang has clarified that the allegations being levelled against him is travesty and completely baseless.

In a release, committee's media in-charge D Monipham stated that there have been reports in some newspapers concerning the unfortunate incident that happened on February 17 at the residence of independent candidate for Tengnoupal AC Tantanga Kohai Moshilpha at Tuishimi village in connection with Assembly election.

The matter relates to the case of false allegations against NPF candidate D Korungthang, the release said, It maintained that the charges levelled the secretary of election committee of Tantanga Moshilpha is nothing but a travesty of truth.

"The said wild allegations made by the secretary is nothing but feeble attemptat taking political mileage and seeking sympathy votes.

We want to reiterate the commitment of D Korungthang for free, fair and peaceful election," it further said.
