Noney Fire Service Sub-Station inaugurated at Longmai Pt-5

Strengthening emergency response and public safety infrastructure in the hill district, the Noney District Fire Service Sub-Station was formally inaugurated on Wednesday at Duiphoujang, Longmai Pt-5, near the Noney Police out-post.
The inauguration was led by Dinganglung Gangmei, IAS (Retd), Chairman, Hill Areas Committee (HAC) and MLA of 54-Nungba (ST) Assembly Constituency, who attended the function as the chief guest.
The inaugural stone was unveiled by the chief guest, followed by lighting of candles in the presence of dignitaries and local residents.
Among those present at the programme were L Nabachandra Singh, Director, Manipur Fire Service; Namsadai Piter, Superintendent of Police, Noney; land donor Akhao Dangmei; and village leaders from the Longmai area.
Addressing the gathering, Director of Manipur Fire Service L Nabachandra Singh expressed his sincere gratitude to the local MLA Dinganglung Gangmei and land donor Akhao Dangmei for their dedicated efforts in making the sub-station a reality.
He acknowledged the generous donation of land for the establishment of the Fire Service Sub-Station and emphasized that the Fire Service functions solely for public welfare.
He appealed to the community to take collective responsibility in maintaining the firefighting equipment for their effective and long-term use.
He also informed the public that the Fire Service emergency helpline number for Noney District is 6909014951.In his address, the chief guest thanked the Government of Manipur for responding to the long-felt needs of the people of Noney district.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Director of Fire Service and the land donor for their valuable contribution towards strengthening essential services in the district.
Stressing the importance of unity, he said prioritizing narrow individual or tribal interests would not serve the larger interests of the state.
Highlighting peace as the cornerstone of development, he stated that without peace and harmony, social cohesion weakens and communities suffer.
He called upon the people to promote mutual respect, resolve differences through understanding, and work collectively for lasting peace and progress.
As part of the programme, the Fire Service personnel also conducted a live demonstration of firefighting equipment in front of the dignitaries and the general public, showcasing the preparedness and capabilities of the newly inaugurated substation.
