Thadou-Kuki AEC-II textbook for undergraduate students released

The Thadou-Kuki Literature Society (TKLS) on Friday released "Pao Chiennalhuongpiho" (Language System), the prescribed Ability Enhancement Course-II (AEC-D) textbook for second-semester undergraduate students pursuing BA, BSc and BCom programmes under Manipur University and Dhanamanjuri University (DM University) .
The publication marks a significant academic milestone as the Thadou-Kuki language has been incorporated into the undergraduate curriculum as a Major Indian Language (MIL) in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and life National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
Authored by noted academic and language scholar Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip, the textbook is expected to make an important contribution to the development of contemporary Thadou-Kuki literature and higher education.
The book was formally released by Dr Seikhohao Kipgen.
Principal of Presidency College, Motbung, during a function held at the college.
It was dedicated by Rev Hekai Simte, Superintendent Pastor of TBA.
Designed for undergraduate learners, Pao Chiennalhuongpiho introduces modem vocabulary, contemporary sentence structures and learner-friendly teaching methods, making the study of the Thadou-Kuki language more accessible and relevant to present-day academic needs.
The release ceremony was attended by academicians, educators, church leaders, TKLS office-bearers and members, who described the publication as a historic step towards strengthening and mainstreaming the Thadou-Kuki language in higher education.
