Entries called for 72nd National Film Awards

Imphal, October 15 2025: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B); Government of India has called for entries for selection for the 72nd National Film Awards for 2024 .

In a release, Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) informed that entries are invited for Feature Films (fiction) and NonFeature Films (documentaries, short films) that were certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024 .

All the films must have English subtitles.

Applications must be submitted online, followed by a signed hard copy sent via post.

The last date for submission of the online applications is October 31, 2025 and the last date for receipt of the hard copy of the submitted online application form along with the requisite material is November 6, 2025 .

MSFDS appealed to all film producers, film critics, and writers who have produced films and related works eligible as entries for the prestigious national film awards to kindly participate in the selection.
