NABARD observes 45th Foundation Day

The 45th Foundation Day of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was observed today at the Imperial Hall, Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.
The event, organised by NABARD Manipur Regional Office was graced by dignitaries, including NABARD GM/OIC Ramalingam Kasinathan, RBI CGM N Shridhar, Registrar of Cooperative Societies Manipur W Ibohal, and MSRLM SMD Mamoni Doley.
Speaking on the occasion.
NABARD Assistant General Manager Thokchom Kiran said that over the last 45 years, NABARD has implemented several peoplecentric initiatives in the state.
He added that 37,000 farmers in Manipur have been provided Kisan Credit Cards to help them during times of financial distress.
He further stated that NABARD is supporting Self Help Groups through financial assistance and livelihood skill training, enabling many to become self-reliant.
Products made by trained beneficiaries are now being marketed not only in other States but also abroad, contributing significantly to the State's economy, he added.
He also informed that 232 cooperative societies in Manipur have been computerized under NABARD, bringing them under Core Banking Solution and enabling them to function like full-fledged bank outlets.
