Tama represents women hawkers at Asian meet

Imphal, May 15 2025:
All India Women Hawkers' Federation working president Kshetri Tama represented women hawkers of India at the '2nd Asian Conference on Finance' organised by the Asian People's Movement Debt and Development (APMDD) which commenced on Thursday at Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Participated by delegates of 10 South East Asian countries, representatives of seven different organisations of India are also attending the conference which will continue till May 19 .

The conference will discuss several topics including "wealth tax now for economic justice and climate action", "system change not climate change", "no climate justice without gender justice", "climate finance for 100 per cent renewable energy" and "context and current challenges in our fight for transforming international financial architecture" as part of a broader fight on economic and climate challenges.
Additionally, the conference will also address the roles of civil society organisations, women's groups, hawkers, and trade unions in mitigating the impacts of climate change.
Kshetri Tama will speak at the conference on the effects of climate change in Manipur.
