IE(I) observes World Standards Day

Imphal, October 14 2025: Joining the rest of the world, the Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre observed World Standards Day at its Seminar Hall in Government Polytechnic Campus, Takyel today.

As per a release issued by IE(I) Manipur State Centre, this year's theme, "Shared Vision for a Better World: Spotlight on SDG 17-Partnerships for the Goals", highlights the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainable development.

The observation was graced by Soibam Tampha Singh, chairman-elect; L Swamikanta Singh, chairman, IEI Manipur State Centre; and Dr Subhaschandra Thokchom, honorary secretary, IEI Manipur State Centre as presidium members.

In his address, L Swamikanta spoke in length about the needs for standardisation and relevance of observing the World Standards Day.

He also deliberated on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and urged all to follow the guidelines for a better tomorrow.

The event was attended by IEI Manipur State Centre Committee members, corporate members of IEI, engineers from various engineering departments & special invitees.
