ABDWJU revokes restrictions

Bishnupur, July 13 2024: All Bishnupur District Working Journalist Union (ABDWJU) has revoked the restrictions imposed on covering and publishing news of programmes organised by the United Meitei Pangal Committee Manipur, Forum for Restoration of Peace Manipur (FRPM), All Kwakta Coordinating Committee, Meitei Pangal Intellectual Forum, All Meitei Pangal Youth Association and Jamiat Ulema in Bishnupur district with immediate effect.

In a statement, ABDWJU secretary Ahongsangbam Kishan Singh said that the decision to revoke the restrictions was taken during a meeting convened today at Manipur Press Club attended by representatives of All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU), ABDWJU and All Kwakta Co-Ordinating Committee.

Since the restrictions have been revoked, media coverage will be given for programmes held in Kwakta, said the statement.

It may be noted that All Bishnupur District Working Journalist Union imposed the restrictions in connection with a programme organised by the aforementioned organisations on February 28 this year.
