Imphal, May 13 2025: Food Safety Administration, Imphal East, in coordination with Sketch The Art To Create, Indore (MP) and the Classic Group of Hotels, Imphal organised a one-day programme on 'Food safety supervisor course on basic catering level 1' at the Classic Grande on Tuesday.

Classic Group of Hotels assistant general manager Ngangom Gopeshwar, Imphal East CMO Dr Lourembam Indira and Food Safety Administration, Imphal East designated officer Dr L Kripriyalini were the resource persons of the course.

Dr Indira spoke about necessary precautions to be taken at home while preparing edible items procured from market, reminding that everybody needs to be aware of how to prevent diseases when preparing food items before cooking in kitchen including safe water usage.

She stated that the training was designed to enhance ground-level awareness among food business operators (FBOs) focusing on hygiene and waste disposal, and expressed hope that the trainees would benefit from the programme.

L Kripriyalini informed that those opening food stalls including street food and hotels are known as food business operators, and explained that they need to undergo proper food safety training and possess a certificate for basic catering.
