Faculty Development Programme concludes

A 2-Week Faculty Development Programme on "Contemporary Trends in Research Funding and Innovative Technologies for Teaching" concluded today at the Conference Hall, College of Agriculture (COA), Iroisemba, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
The programme aimed to enhance faculty teaching skills and research capabilities, focusing on effective research proposals and innovative teaching methods benefiting students and farmers.
Expert-led sessions included talks on higher education, curriculum analysis, ICT tools for blended classrooms, and hands-on training on MOOCs.
Altogether, 27 participants from 13 CAU colleges attended the programme.
The valedictory function was graced by Prof Indira Sarangthem, DI, CAU, Imphal; Prof K Nandini Devi, Dean, COA, Imphal; Prof N Brajendra Singh, and Prof L K Mishra as presidium members.
The programme featured more than 30 sessions, hands-on training, and assessments via presentations and case studies, fostering collaborative research and innovation in agriculture.
Experts from World Vegetable Centre, ICAR, IIM, IIT, and others shared insights on cutting-edge technologies like AI, loT, and research funding opportunities.
Highlighting the programme's impact, participants developed research proposals applying new skills that they acquired during this programme.
All the scientists were group into four tours and presented research proposals focused on pressing issues and problems in relations with the North East region of India such as pineapple productivity enhancement, IoT based artificial stingless beehive, Lathyrus Indian pea as cattle feed and ecological research on Zanthoxylum rhetsa.
A special training manual about writing a winning research proposal was also released by the dignitaries.
