2nd COVID case detected, patient advised home isolation

Imphal, June 12 2025:
A second COVID-19 positive case has been confirmed in the state following contact tracing carried out by the Health Department authorities.
The first case was detected on June 8, marking the return of the virus after a significant lull.
Officials said the second patient was detected on Wednesday during contact tracing and is a resident of the same hostel where the first patient had stayed before leaving the state for Hyderabad.
With the latest detection,the Health Department authorities have intensified contact tracing measures to identify any further potential cases linked to the two individuals.
According to guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the newly detected variant of COVID-19 is not considered severe and can be managed through home isolation.
In line with these guidelines, the second patient has been advised to remain in home isolation and is under regular monitoring and communication with health officials.
