VKSA campaign continues in Churachandpur

As part of the ongoing nationwide pre-Kharif campaign - Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) 2025 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, to strengthen agriculture and ensure sustainable livelihood for farmers, an awareness-cum-outreach programme was organised on Wednesday by ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Churachandpur under supervision of its senior scientist cum head/VSKA district nodal officer Dr Manoj Kumar Pandey.

As per a release of the KVK, by 11th day of the campaign it has achieved 91 per cent of the target of VKSA 2025 in terms of farmers and villages to be covered in the district by three teams comprising scientists from ICAR Manipur Centre, subject matter specialists, programme assistant, farm manager from ICAR-KVK, Churachandpur and staff from line departments.
Despite challenging weather and unrest situation in Manipur, a total of 99 villages and 12,433 farmers, including 6195 female, were covered in the past 11 days of the campaign across the district.
Participating farmers were sensitised and mobilised through awareness programmes, demonstrations and interactive sessions, who also shared their experiences and discussed challenges.
KVK, Churachandpur further said that it also transferred seven suitable technologies for Manipur in the form of leaflet along with hand-outs on various government schemes to the participating farmers.
During the campaign, experts highlighted soil health campaign, modern agricultural practices for Kharif crops, soil and water conservation, climate resilient technologies, natural farming, composite fish culture, off-season vegetable cultivation, vermicomposting, Integrated Farming System, resource conservation technologies, animal feed/ health management and campaigned on government schemes.
