Thoubal College Annual Sports Meet commences

Thoubal, February 11 2026: The Annual Sports Meet of Thoubal College began today with a vibrant opening ceremony at the college campus, marking the start of a three-day event featuring a wide range of athletic competitions.

The inauguration commenced with a torch rally, in which the ceremonial fire was brought from Andro and carried through various parts of Thoubal before arriving at the campus.

National Basketball player and college student Huirongbam Rahul administered the oath, followed by Thoubal College Principal.

Prof A Nabachandra, who lit the sports flame and officially declared the meet open.

Throughout the three-day event, students will compete in an array of indoor and outdoor sports, including shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, long jump, high jump, football, basketball, tug-of-war, badminton, table tennis and carrom, among others.

In his inaugural address, Prof Nabachandra urged the students to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship, maintain discipline, and strive to make the sports meet a grand success.
