"Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" campaign launched for I/E

In a coordinated effort to combat underage marriage, the "Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" awareness campaign was launched for Imphal East district on Friday.
The campaign was launched by RK Dayananda, Additional District Magistrate, Imphal East at Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Porompat.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Dayananda stated that preventing child marriage has been a challenge due to lack of proper understanding about the unlawful practices among the public.
He also emphasised on the importance of raising awareness on child rights and the collective responsibility of society in safeguarding children from early and forced marriages.
Aribam Noutuneshwari Devi, retired District & Sessions Judge also spoke on the topic, "The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006".The function was also attended by Panyachat Secretaries, Block Development Officers, Child Marriage Protection Officer and Executive Officers of Imphal East district.
A poster of the "Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" awareness campaign was also released.
