Living Art Academy begins 'RASA 64' presentation

Yumjao Mayum Living Art Academy today organised the first phase presentation of the 'RASA 64' under CMAT 2025-26 at Ramji Prabhu Mandir, Imphal.
In the first episode, 'Balya Milan' was presented with Laishram Itocha and Mairembam Ranjit as artistes.
In the second episode, 'Banshi Dhani' was performed by Oinam Shinghajit and Thongram Sanatomba.
Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Leimapokpam Lakpati, former Director of JN Manipur Dance Academy Laipubam Upendro, Vice Chairman of Rupmahal Theatre, Imphal Loitongbam Brajamohan and many others attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Yumjao Mayum Living Art Academy secretary Yumnam Bhumeshwor said the presentation was organised with the aim of reviving and preserving the 64 episodes of Rasa.
He said with support from CMAT under the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur, the Academy aims to present all 64 episodes within two years and to make the younger generation aware of them.
He added that while Government support will also be sought, the Academy will try to present the episodes in a short period without waiting.
He said the initiative was taken up apprehending that the episodes might be lost from the State as they have not been presented for a long time.
