Students protest shortage of teachers

Imphal, August 06 2025: Students of Nilapadma Higher Secondary School, Awang Sekmai staged a protest demonstration today against the shortage of teachers in the school.

A large number of students holding placards with the writing such as "Send adequate teachers to the school", "Dont transfer teachers without reason", "Dont ignore the school", etc participated in the protest held in front of the school gate.

Speaking to the media, the students expressed their anguish over the severe shortage of teachers in the school especially for Classes VI to XII .

Highlighting that three teachers of Botany, Economics & Political Science subjects were recently transferred from the school, the students lamented that transferring teachers in a time when there is already a shortage of teaching staff in the school is unfortunate.

They further urged the Government and Education Department to send adequate teachers at the earliest to maintain a conducive learning environment in the school.
