Felicitation programme held in honour of Dr Chambo Gonmei

Noney, July 06 2025: A grand felicitation programme was organised today at Rangkhung Part-I Village, honouring Dr Chambo Gonmei, Director of Health Services, Government of Manipur.

The event was jointly hosted by the Rangkhung Village Authority and Customary Court.

Dr Chambo, originally from Dailong Village, Tamenglong District, is the first and only tribal officer in Manipur to hold the Special Grade post in the Health Department.

The village leaders extended a warm welcome and congratulated him on his remarkable achievement.

As a mark of respect and appreciation, Rongmei traditional shawls and bouquets were presented to Dr Chambo and his team.

The event witnessed active participation from village elders, women leaders, youth representatives, and local residents.

A memorandum seeking the establishment of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Rangkhung was submitted during the event, led by village leader Kaniamei Riamei.

In response, Dr Chambo assured that he would strongly pursue the proposal with higher authorities for early implementation.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr Chambo thanked the villagers for their support and for organising the felicitation.

Earlier in the day, PHC Noney, under the leadership of CMO Dr Azin Maringmei, also held a special felicitation for Dr Chambo Gonmei, recognising his valuable service and leadership in the health sector.
