Jiribam Forest Divn organises spot-painting competition

Jiribam, May 04 2026: With the aim of instilling awareness about biological diversity among students, the Divisional Forest Officer, Jiribam Forest Division, Manipur, on Monday organised a spot painting competition at Jiribam Higher Secondary School.

The competition, held for students of Classes IX to XII, was based on the theme "Acting Locally for Global Impact," as designated by the Convention on Biological Diversity for this year.

In a statement, Divisional Forest Officer, Elangbam Nirmala Chanu informed that a total of around 50 students from various schools participated in the event.

Participating institutions included Jiribam Higher Secondary School, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Hill Cross English School, Highway English School, Pebble Stone International School, Cambridge International School, Lal Pani High School, among others.

She further stated that the winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes along with certificates.

The selected students will also get the opportunity to represent the district at the Statelevel competition.
