LIKL prays for Lei Ingkhol residents

Lei Ingkhol Kanba Lup (LIKL) organised a "Thouni Thouram" seeking the blessings of leprosy afflicted villagers to save Lei Ingkhol from displacement by the proposed expansion of the High Court complex.
Held at Lei Ingkhol village on January 1, 2026, the ceremony was attended by Ahanthem Tolen (National Awardee) secretary, Leprosy Patients Welfare Society (LEWS) and leprosy affected persons-Shamurailatpam Pumimashi, Haobijam Amusana, Gurumayum Pishak, Yaithingbam Shyama, L Ramdayal, Laishram Memcha, Shamurailatpam Sanahanbi and L Koba Maring.
Lei Ingkhol Kanba Lup members and villagers sought blessings of the lepers, who played a vital role in the establishment of the village, to help them achieve success in the movement to save Lei Ingkhol.
Highlighting the long history of social ostracization and struggles faced by the villagers in founding Lei Ingkhol, Ahanthem Tolen proclaimed that neither men nor gods will accept the displacement of the village by the Government.
Meanwhile, Maimom Anil, president, Lei Ingkhol Kanba Lup sought the people's support to save the village.
Simple gifts were also presented to the leprosy afflicted persons at yesterday's event.
