ACRT marks 17th foundation day with cultural performances in Thoubal

Thoubal, March 31 2026: The Academy for Cultural Resource & Training (ACRT), Nepra Company, celebrated its 17th foundation day today at its training hall in Thoubal Nepra Company, marking over a decade of nurturing artists in the fields of Nat Sankirtan and Dhol Dholok.

The event was graced by Thoubal District Congress Committee, TDCC president Yumnam Basanta Singh as chief guest; ACRT vice-president Kh Shamungou Singh as functional president; and social worker Leimapokpam Bimol Singh as guest of honour.

As part of the programme, four female artists of the academy performed the "Leima Jagoi" production.

The event also featured a vibrant cultural show presented by the academy's artists, including performances of Pung Cholom, Maibi Jagoi, Hari-Priya, and various solo dances.

Speaking on the occasion, TDCC president Y Basanta appealed to the gathering to extend support and encouragement to institutions like the ACRT, which play a significant role in preserving and promoting the State's rich art and cultural heritage.
