Social Activist M Meghachandra initiates road repair work at Borayangbi

Social activist Moirangthem Meghachandra has taken the initiative to repair the long-neglected Thabaton Leirak, also known as Borayangbi Mayai Lambi, a vital road stretch under Borayangbi Panchayat Ward No 2 in the Kumbi Assembly Constituency.
The 2-kilometre road stretch, which had remained in a deplorable state for years with severe waterlogging and potholes, serves as a vital route for many commuters, including school going children Speaking on the matter during an inspection visit, Moirangthem Meghachandra said that upon seeing the dilapidated condition of the road, which is primarily settled by the Meitei Pangals community, he consulted with local elders and youths and initiated the repairing works, added Meghachandra.
He stated that such deteriorating conditions, left unattended by the concerned authorities under the Panchayat, are unfortunate and need urgent attention.
"Such remote areas that remain unreached of Government's developmental activities must be given utmost priority by the Government and Panchayats officials," he added.
Md Thabaton, a local elder, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Meghachandra for addressing the longstanding issue.
He said the road's poor state had caused immense difficulties to commuters for many years and welcomed the initiative as a much-needed relief.
